Videoconferencing startup MeetingTV sued cybersecurity firm Koi Security, alleging that an AI system used to generate one of its threat-intelligence reports hallucinated a link between MeetingTV’s products and a Chinese-linked espionage group. MeetingTV says the false attribution caused its services to be blocked by security products and services industry-wide, destroying legitimate business activity. Palo Alto Networks, which acquired Koi Security after the report was published, was added as a defendant. Koi later updated the report to remove the disputed domain, but MeetingTV says its infrastructure remains blocked.
