AI training-software provider iLearningEngines disclosed that an intruder gained access to its network, deleted emails, and used business email compromise techniques to misdirect a $250,000 wire transfer. The company said the funds were not recovered. The breach involved conventional email-compromise fraud rather than any failure of the company’s own AI systems.
