Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported in mid-October 2026 that an AI agent given server access by production company Mastiff deleted an entire edited season of the TV4 reality show “The Challenge Sverige” about five weeks before its planned premiere. Raw footage reportedly survived, but the edited cut did not, and Mastiff’s backup of the edited material failed to restore it, forcing hundreds of staff to recut the season from scratch. TV4 disputed the AI’s role, with a spokesperson calling it a “technical failure” and a program director denying that an AI agent acted independently. The show’s premiere, originally set for November 22, 2026, has been pushed back to 2027.
